Correct maintenance method of plastic mold parts

Regular maintenance of plastic mold parts plays a vital role in the service life of the mold. The annual maintenance procedures required for each injection molding location depend on different mold cycle cycles. The following are some maintenance tips for plastic mold parts, which can be used by each mold user to ensure the effective operation of hot runners, heaters, guide posts and thimble, molding inserts and other mold components to prevent accidents.
1. Check whether there is early warning of rust or moisture at the vent. If you find rust or moisture near the exhaust hole of the hot runner, it means that the internal condensation or the water pipe may be broken. Humidity can cause a fatal short circuit to the heater. If the machine is not running all year round and needs to be shut down at night or on weekends, the chance of such condensation will increase.
2. Remember to remind the operator not to "clean up" the hot tip at the gate. If the operator happens to see a small piece of stainless steel at the nozzle of the mold accessory, it may be a point nozzle assembly. "Cleaning up" this seemingly obstructive thing often destroys the hot mouth. In order not to damage the hot mouth, please confirm the type of mouth of the hot runner system before taking action, and ensure that all operators are well-trained to recognize the different types of mouths they are in contact with.
3. Sliding stop. For machines that run all year round, this work should be done once a week. At the end of the year, it is a good time to perform a routine lubrication maintenance on these parts.
4. Check the resistance value of the heater interactively. You should have measured the resistance value of the heater when you first started using it, and the end of the year is when it is measured again and compared. If the resistance value fluctuates by ± 10%, it should be considered to replace the heater to ensure that it will not fail at a critical moment in the production process. If the initial resistance value has never been measured, measure it once and use the obtained value as reference data when checking the heater in the future.
5. Check for signs of wear between the guide post and the guide sleeve. Look for signs of scratches or scratches, etc. This type of plastic mold wear is caused by a lack of lubrication. If the marks are just new, you can also extend the life of the guide post and guide bush by adding lubricant. If the wear is severe, it should be replaced with new parts. Otherwise, the cavity and the core part may not fit well, resulting in uneven thickness of the component cavity wall.
